Follow Your Road

Posted on

Lately life has been a bit challenging. I am one of those folks who believes in letting the good in and focusing on the positive.   Still, naysayers have a way of creeping in and those with peculiar agendas.  I’m blessed to have wonderful friends who are wonderful people.   I’ve had my share of ups and downs but still I feel life has so much to offer.   The song “Follow Your Road” is one of my favories when I’m down and out.  I have been trying to purchase  a less expensive of the song (by the group Seawind).  Singer Joanna Avil has done an update available on Itunes.

Follow Your Road

With so many roads that seem to lead down to the sea
I wonder which road will be the right one for me
Others may fall away, dead ending left and right
But there is this one road the journey’s far out aside.

Have you wondered where your road will lead you?
Maybe to a bright day of sunshine or a starry night in heaven
Or it might be you’re afraid to go, afraid to go
But you’ve got to follow your road, or you’ll never know – never know

We are all but travelers living in a foreign land
Just trying to find our way – best as we can
Looking for an answer, trying to find some light
And though we have journeyed far, it’s not quite far enough.

Have you wondered where your road will lead you?
Maybe to a song that needs singing, or a summer rain
Or it might be you’re afraid to go, afraid to go
But you’ve got to follow your road, or you’ll never know

You’ve got to follow your road, follow your road
You’ve got to follow your road, follow your road
You’ve got to follow your road, follow your road
And maybe someday your road will take you far away

You’ve got to follow your road, follow your road, follow your road
You’ve got to follow your road, follow your road, follow your road
You’ve got to follow your road, follow your road, follow your road
And maybe someday your road will take you far away

And maybe someday your road will take you far away

Signs of Growth

Roxie sometimes snips me with her teeth.  Yesterday she got me right on my back side.   I thought it was to get my attention but I recently read cats do it to mark you more intimately.  I don’t know if mothers do that to their children.  Some hold on too tight but after a time it’s up to us to set ourselves free…not just from mother love but from anything that harms us or prevents us from fulfilling our dreams and living a reach full life.

Technology

…just got off the phone with a neighbor who doesn’t know if technology is the blessing we make it out to be…I for sure am often befuddled but often amazed.  Of course those of you who know about Roxie and her laser toy know CCL and I have two cats who are with the new tech for sure.   Still don’t know about Roxie and her social media skills however.

Laser Toy – An Amber Alert for Cats??

As I write this Roxie has returned after going missing for 23 hours.  I  think she got outside last night when I was helping my friend Peter get some things from my garage for the yard sale he and his wife Ruth had today.  I never saw her leave.   Exactly how she got out and where she hid for the entire length of time is a mystery although she  was located in my neighbor John’s yard.  He’s building a deck.    During our search my daughter, CCL ,and I  noticed Roxie peeping from  behind the base of the deck , the lure of the laser toy I was beeming too much for her to stay hidden.  CCL went in the yard and retrieved  her from behind a can of white paint as some of some of my neighbors watched in amusement.  Apparently Roxie did attempt a brief return while I was out getting a manicure this afternoon – evidenced by white paw prints on my black wrought iron steps.

So Much To Be Grateful For

As I write this Roxie is listening intently to a sermon by my pastor.  There is so much to be grateful for it’s important not to take things for granted.  I read after 40 years a political couple is calling it quits.   How? Why?  I don’t know.  A lifetime.  What makes us grow and go on??  What sustains relationships, associations??  Jean Claude and Roxie have a rhthym but in many ways are as different as night and day.  They like their time together and their time apart.   They work toward common goals.  Clearly they appreciate each other’s company.  Love in its purest form.
