To Pee or Not to Pee

The Palace

Well, if you have animals you know they do things like pee on the rug, poop where you don’t want them to or have a hairball that you have to clean up.

Animals will also use this type of behavior as a means of communication.  Roxie does this when she wants to show displeasure.  I won’t get anymore graphic than to say, that Roxie can work a nerve. But you gotta love her.

However, my point is that we all should pee on the rug a little more often.  When we are upset at someone, pee on their rug.  Let them know you are upset and why you are upset.  Cats don’t hold it in and neither should you!

The Brazilian Edition

Brazil is a country of contradictions like any other country.  But it’s fabulous!  Bahia is fantastic and I love Sao Paulo.  I didn’t expect to love it.

However, as always, cats follow me everywhere and I saw the cutest kitten at an outdoor nightclub.  He found some food and then started meowing so loudly.  I wanted to buy him food, but at that point I was out of treats  so I pray that God will take care of him.  The kitten started showing out, but unfortunately I could only take one picture of him.

When you travel, who you travel with is just as important as where you go.  Travel with those who like to travel like do you.  Some people like to relax and just chill.  Some need their days to be packed.  .

A Positive Outlook

Cats always have a positive outlook on life. They don’t hold grudges, even Roxie who gets mad tends to let it go. I wonder if they have a positive outlook on life. I realize that sometimes we think we are easy going positive people and yet we never have a good thing to say about anything. We complain, but try to do it jokingly, or we always look at what something isn’t rather than what something is.

Cats just accept their surroundings good, bad or indifferent and will often try to adjust.

Are you someone who has to have a comment about everything? Can you hold your tongue so that you lose the battle, but win the war?

Today, try to smile no matter what happens. If you feel happy, smile, if you feel sad smile. If you are angry, smile. Why do we hold on to things for so long?

What Cats Teach Us

Cats teach us a lot. People who don’t like cats tend to say that they don’t like them because they are sneaky or aloof when nothing could be further from the truth. Cats are loving creatures who love those who have shown that they deserve love. Cats are also loyal, knowing who are the people who mean them good. Dogs will cuddle up to anyone who walks in the house. Just like in life, we should be open to allowing new people in our lives, but we shouldn’t let every person who crosses our path into our lives.

For the last three weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of having the cats at my house. It’s been a good journey, complete with Roxie running away, Jean-Claude demanding to go outside and me running out of wet food (a big no no).

I’ve also played with them, combed them and watched them fight and this morning saw the evidence of a pretty big fight downstairs.

Gotta love those cats.

Taking it All in Stride

So there was a book out called everything I needed to know I learned from my cat or something like that. This is true. One of the greatest lessons we can learn from cats is their ability to be flexible. Nobody is perfect and occasionally I’ll oversleep and the cats will have no food. Sometimes they try to wake me up, but more often not, they just curl up at the foot of the bed so as soon as I wake up, they are ready to run downstairs and get their food.

When they can’t go outside they meow for a bit, but eventually they will move on and realize “hey, I’ll go out another time” They don’t care about the consequences and they don’t whine if they don’t get their way.

We should be more flexible in our approach to life. We may not get everything we want, but we will get everything we need.
