Is what you are looking for right there?

So I haven’t blogged in a while, but in the spirit of some of the posts from Azeena I thought I would tell a story.

So I have two decks at my house.  One deck is off the second story and I frequently let the cats out on it because they can’t really run away although Roxie has been known to take a flying leap off of it.  So I was looking for Roxie and because the door was open and I couldn’t find her in the house, I thought she was being difficult and stood on the balcony calling her.  Rooooo-xxxxxiie, I called several times only to look down and see she was rubbing my ankles.

Sometimes there are things we think are lost or missing, but have we checked at home first?

Yes!

I can get Azeena off my back and post.  Well let’s see.  A lot has been going on with the CCL and the cats.  Let’s start with Mme. Roxie.

Roxie was always special.  Even when I picked her up from the shelter, she immediately attacked my earrings and as my friend reminds me I said “Oh yeah, she’s nice and crazy.”  Well be careful what you wish for.  Roxie is like the child that is constantly hurting herself so that people wonder what is going on that house.  Luckily JC is good so people know that we don’t do anything to Roxie.  She has broken both of her front incisors, gotten a bad urinary tract infection, chipped a rib and lawd knows what else.  Recently she has taken to running away.  And my grandma is wrong.  Cats are pack creatures, but their packs tend to be much smaller than dogs.

So Roxie ran away from Azeena’s house and she snuck out at my house.  But she does come back.  She just doesn’t have enough sense to do it in a reasonable timeframe and she cant seem to come back on her own.  You have to go and get her for her to come back.

Roxie has also taken to keeping me up at night with constant meowing.  It’s because she misses me because the longer she stays with me the faster she less she does it.

As always, JC is cool and collected

Out All Night

So the first night I brought the cats to my house, it was a nice warm night.  I let the cats out upstairs and Jean-Claude stayed out there ALL night.  He came in the in the morning to get his breakfast.  He is definitely like the the unruly teenage son except that there’s no downside to him staying out.  He likes it, he doesn’t jump off and I still get the nice breeze.

They’ve been at my house where Roxie has been causing a bit of trouble, but they’ve settled down.  Unfortunately, I’ve had to fly to Houston for a few days, but I’m hoping to get to go home early.

It’s been a long few months for me so I’m looking to get some rest soon!

Healthy and now Happy

Roxie & Jean-Claude went to the vet today.  They are in perfect health except for one extra pound.  Me thinks that’s due to Azeena’s feeding.  JC especially knows how to get that perfect meow and beg like he’s never been fed in his life.  He’s over 15 pounds now while Roxie is almost 8.

I told the Vet about Roxie’s adventurous tendencies and how she likes to sleep on top of the water heater.  He warned me that she could get Carbon Monoxide poisoning so I just need to figure out some way to secure that door so that I can keep her out of there!

He also said the tooth she lost isn’t painful for her and she’s good!

She does exist

That picture that Azeena posted was too cute.  So I have been busy and said that I would be posting, but it is hard.  It’s been on my to do list.

Anyway, I have been trying to wrap up one project, finish another project and then try to live my life in between.  So the cats were at my house and I realized that I missed them a lot.  Roxie showed her displeasure that I had left them by peeing on my coat and sheets (looking at my while she did it).  Jean-Claude of course was his normal nonchalant self.

The are both very very sweet.  I did go to Banff this past weekend for a day.  It’s part of the Canadian Rockies.  It was a beautiful country, but I think I prefer the Green & White Mountains of Vermont & NH.  I love the colors on the trees in the Appalachians.  On the east the mountains are older I believe and less raw feeling.
