Ok. so I went on a road trip to Atlantic City for business with two of my colleagues, wonderful people. We stayed at the Trump Taj Mahal. No, I don’t recommend it. The check-in is the worse I’ve in 30 years of travelling. Rooms are ok though and I had a view of the beach. The best view is watching folks….the Atlantic City boardwalk has the best people watching in the world. The Trump Tower is connected to a nightclub …the Casbah, ala the 1938 film “Algiers’ with actors Charles Boyer and Hedy Lamar. You can access the club off the boardwalk. One of my colleague told me about a group of cats that hang out underneath the boardwalk. She said they seem domesticated – got me thinking maybe Roxie and Jean Claude (who enjoy people watching from my back porch) might like a road trip.

Early Morning Fracas
Jean Claude and Roxie have returned after a rather peaceful weekend at CCL’s house. Well, except for yesterday when Roxie apparently jumped from the second floor deck into CCL’s neighbor’s yard. Roxie hollered for help. Jean Claude hollered at CCL who, sound asleep, was unaware of what happened. Unfortunately I am wide awake sitting at my computer trying to do some work and JC and Roxie have been raising heck. A mad chase through the house has been going on for several minutes now; so fast it’s hard to determine who’s chasing who…maybe it’s the rain.
Scare-D Cat
My cousin’s husband doesn’t like cats. He and my cousin came to visit recently. Roxie and Jean Claude performed. Jean Claude jumped atop the living room chair where he was sitting and motioned for the blinds to be risen. Roxie stood guard at the door. Several times Roxie also rushed the chair where he sat. Did I say my cousin’s husband is an Air Force hero?? ( and a wonderful person) but Jean Claude and Roxie spooked him good. He said the scariest thing was when Roxie pushed the dining room chair aside so Jean Claude could hop up and take a seat.
For those of you who asked..here’s the famous “Pinky the Cat” video….the original…Too funny!!
Can Do
There’s something to be said in believing that you can get the job done. Positivity brings positive results. Faith in God’s way brings solutions. Too often people are locked in cycles of complaint. I know some people who have made a career of it. They don’t want to see anything get accomplished. They enjoy complaining and seek things even the smallest things to complain about. It’s important if one is in a work environment such as that to have outside activities which take you away long enough that you don’t get immersed or overwhelmed. Earlier this week I conducted a training for some of the new leaders for tomorrow. One of the more seasoned leaders in the U.S., Congressman Elijah Cummins spoke. He talked about how we have to “encourage” ourselves and that other people, especially those with the “who do you think you are syndrome” can not stand in our way. He said in fact we teach peoople how to treat us. Roxie and Jean Claude are followers of that philosophy. They have me and CCL well trained.
Is what you are looking for right there?
So I haven’t blogged in a while, but in the spirit of some of the posts from Azeena I thought I would tell a story.
So I have two decks at my house. One deck is off the second story and I frequently let the cats out on it because they can’t really run away although Roxie has been known to take a flying leap off of it. So I was looking for Roxie and because the door was open and I couldn’t find her in the house, I thought she was being difficult and stood on the balcony calling her. Rooooo-xxxxxiie, I called several times only to look down and see she was rubbing my ankles.
Sometimes there are things we think are lost or missing, but have we checked at home first?
