So…where’s Roxie??

Well, the cats are at their other residence  (their mom’s house) for at least a week.  I went to visit them today.  Jean Claude rushed to greet me and rubbed against me as I entered the house .  Later he instructed me (with three simple pats to the blinds)   to pull up  the blinds to the front window of my daughter’s house.  My daughter had a special cat seat built on  the window and Jean Claude sat there for awhile.  Roxie, who many of you know is always all over me when at her  other residence (my house) was no where to be found.   CCL told me later Roxie did make an appearance.  I’ll go for a visit later this week.

Dusty’s Last Stand

Posted on

My friend  Gwen told me  yesterday  the story of her family cat,  a real ferocious hussy named Dusty   Apparently birds were not enough for this tough feline.   Rabbits and other wild animals  were also in the cat’s pervue – their  remains sprayed across the back lawn of the family residence.    Seems  Dusty liked everyone else in the  family but didn’t really take too kindly to Gwen.  The menacing looking critter regularly smirked and growled at  her when Gwen returned home from school and no one else was present.  One day smirking was not  enough for Dusty  who jumped claws out and latched onto Gwen’s leg where he remained for a brief but painful  period of time.  Alas,  Dusty met a rather gruesome end.  While  travelling  the highway one bright sunny day, Dusty, according to witnesses,  was hit by a  semi truck.   Gwen upon reflection believes no mere car could have put an end to Dusty’s furious furry  fury.

Healthy and now Happy

Roxie & Jean-Claude went to the vet today.  They are in perfect health except for one extra pound.  Me thinks that’s due to Azeena’s feeding.  JC especially knows how to get that perfect meow and beg like he’s never been fed in his life.  He’s over 15 pounds now while Roxie is almost 8.

I told the Vet about Roxie’s adventurous tendencies and how she likes to sleep on top of the water heater.  He warned me that she could get Carbon Monoxide poisoning so I just need to figure out some way to secure that door so that I can keep her out of there!

He also said the tooth she lost isn’t painful for her and she’s good!

She does exist

That picture that Azeena posted was too cute.  So I have been busy and said that I would be posting, but it is hard.  It’s been on my to do list.

Anyway, I have been trying to wrap up one project, finish another project and then try to live my life in between.  So the cats were at my house and I realized that I missed them a lot.  Roxie showed her displeasure that I had left them by peeing on my coat and sheets (looking at my while she did it).  Jean-Claude of course was his normal nonchalant self.

The are both very very sweet.  I did go to Banff this past weekend for a day.  It’s part of the Canadian Rockies.  It was a beautiful country, but I think I prefer the Green & White Mountains of Vermont & NH.  I love the colors on the trees in the Appalachians.  On the east the mountains are older I believe and less raw feeling.

Trash Day

Trash Day

Today, Wednesday, is trash day so Jean Claude and Roxie usually spend a short time outside.    They  don’t like the noise from the trash trucks.  Well truth is Roxie doesn’t like loud noises of  any kind.  Jean Claude had some intense discussions with birds before moving to a spot  under my porch.  I shut and locked the back porch door and forgot him for a bit.  He stood at the door, crying loudly.  I opened the door and he ran in and went straight to his food bowl.
