Cat Drama

Roxie and Jean Claude are now at CCL’s house on a more permanent basis.  I’ve received rather humorous reports of their recent behavior from my daughter CCL.   Mornings before she leaves for works the cats are particularly frisky.   Jean Claude, the male black Bombay,   slips out any open door to freedom, prancing round the hood til he’s ready to come back home.  Roxie, the female Japanese bobtail, has once again taken to her sky-diving routine, jumping not once but twice in the last week from the second floor deck of CCL’s house .  She landed safely both times in the neighbor’s yard below.  Here’s a youtube video where the “Jedi Cat” looks very much like Roxie…hmmn.

Roxie’s Coupon Frenzie

As I clipped coupons from the newspaper Roxie sat on my bed going through them as well. Yes, we have Groupon and Living Social and email deals etc but there’s something about paper coupons, besides Roxie loves them.

Roxie and Jean Claude seem to finally be getting settled at CCL’s house. It has been a tough transition for me and for Roxie I suspect who still gives me looks of longing whenever I visit her at CCL’s house.   But everything must change and if we allow it things  change for the better.  It’s a balancing act really – I heard an inspirational message “Don’t let your past determine your future – press on.”  Certainly  we’ve all faced some challenges in 2011 but we are blessed that 2012 is here.  Me, I’m looking forward to visiting Roxie and Jean Claude often.

It’s Back!! The Giant Monster Plant Lives

Feed Me

(Paid a visit to mom over the Christmas holidays and yes, the giant plant is  thriving.  I wrote this post three years ago when the late, great Roxie was still with us)

I’m at my mom’s house this week, looking after sis and caring for mom’s plants, house etc. Don’t worry Roxie and Jean Claude are guarding my house (with help from CCL and assorted friends, family etc.). You may recall the blog I wrote last summer (Planticide- July 18, 2010). I described a giant plant in my mom’s living room that fell over and its pot broke into hundreds of pieces. Yes mom rescued a piece of the plant and put it in water and then repotted it. Well here it is folks one year later complete with scales and four-foot branches. I’m just waiting for it to say “Feed Me” circa “Little Shop of Horrors,” the 1960 movie which featured Jack Nicholson.

There’s a lot of Christmas this year. My neightbors have outdone themselves with decor including moving Reindeer, lights, talking Santas and the like Roxie and Jean Claude for the time being remain at grandma’s house. Currently Roxie is sitting on my bed enjoying the sounds of Christmas music blasting from the television. She is also fascinated by the Christmas tree. Jean Claude, well yes, but he really liked playing with his cat Christmas toys as well as the foiled wrapped candies and admiring the neighborhood Christmas lights.
