Preparing for Grace
Grace is coming to stay with me for a few days as CCL has to tend to some things. Grace is the cat formerly known as “Cher.” You may recall from an earlier post ( Sonny Gets Adopted-https://catsandallthat.com/2018/05/19/sonny-gets-adopted/ ) . She is a rescue Tabby who had been abused and overfed. She is now a healthier, happier, delightful member of the CCL household.
Grace will, of course, eat special food during her stay in Washington, D.C. (CCL is picky) and have her water served courtesy of a filtered system (don’t want her drinking DC water). Special playthings and cushions are being set up.
Not sure if she will attack my vinyl blinds ( previous sets famously demolished by Roxie, Koko and Jean Claude in the past) but we will see.
I do know that by her namesake she will bring peace and certainty of spirit. She is also full of love.
You Can Teach An Old Cat New Tricks
This is too cool for school. Still trying to teach Koko to “High Five.”
You’ve Got to Have Friends: The Story of Alpha, A Dog Who is An Everyday Hero
A Virginia high school yearbook bears the photo of a dog among its student photos. Alpha is an almost daily fixture at Stafford High School in Fredericksburg, VA, He alerts his owner, AJ, who has Type One Diabetes when AJ’s blood sugar is too low. Alpha’s yearbook photo and the story behind it have now gone viral. Here’s an account by WJLA-TV, the Washington, D.C. ABC News affiliate.
Aquas De Marco (Waters of March)
It has been a long winter in Washington, D.C. . This is a town where we used to get just a couple of snowstorms a year but now we got snow and messy weather (for this region) on a regular basis. It definitely put a cramp in Jean Claude and Koko’s activities as they like to go in CCL’s backyard and explore. The winter season had a pretty dramatic impact on me as well. There were disappointments , some sadness, some hurt but now I find myself feeling happy again with knowledge that many blessings are coming with the spring.
One of my favorite songs by Antonio Jobim – Aquas De Marco- literally says it all
By the way this month, starts the fifth anniversary of “Cats and All That” go to our Facebook page and say hi.
