This week and next I have jury duty – that means nightly I call in with my juror number to see if I’ve been picked to serve on a panel. I did not get picked today but I’m home waiting for the cable contractor and also to see what time I can pick up the Japanese bobtail Roxie from the vet. She had surgery on Friday and has been at the vet since last Tuesday. Saturday, CCL and I were allowed to pay her a visit. We both held her watched her and played music for her. She was in some pain and then calmed down. She seemed better for the most part when we left. Her absence is clearly tough on the black bombay Jean Claude, who totally male, has been extremely needy the last few days. He usually loves to go outside for his morning constitutional but today he sat almost listless by the backporch door and then came in the house after only a brief time as if hoping Roxie would be in the house when he returned.

Morning Constitutional
When at my house, Roxie and Jean Claude have a morning routine. If I am not up by a certain time Roxie jumps on the bed and gets in my face to wake me up. After I go through a couple of my own morning rituals, I go downstairs quickly followed by Jean Claude and Roxie who usually stop to take in a little breakfast and then wait for me to open the back porch door so they can go outside. JC generally likes to go and hang for awhile. When the neighbors let their dogs out and the dogs bark, he sits in the grass unphased, ocassionally dialouginng with birds. Roxie of course is well sheself. Of late she’s taken to plopping on
my easy chair in my outdoor sitting room underneath the back porch. Just chillin.
In the Bag – The Kitty Recycling Campaign
Jean Claude is clearly an environmentalist. He enjoys going outdoors and he has an affinity for the reuse of paper products, newspapers crumbled in pieces, paper bags and boxes. Those products tend to stay around my house probably longer than they should as well CCL’s house for Jean Claude’s use and evaluation. Roxie will occassionally crawl into a paper bag but usually by mistake.
Pampered Kitties- Cush’s Beauty Regimen
There is no doubt Jean Claude and Roxie enjoy the fabu life…electronic liter boxes, filtered water and Fancy Feast…travel…multiple residences with great views, liberal work hours and luxury play items. They also are very much loved. My neighbors Paul and Isaiah have a cat too…Cush, always fun and lively who looks very young for her age. In addition she also takes glucosamine for her joints and get’s the best grooming possible as she is a very hairy cat – cats are love – they deserve our best.
Frisky Morning Maneuvers
I’ve read somewhere that cats sleep 80 percent of the time. I guess that Roxie and Jean Claude sleep all day while I’m at work cause they don’t sleep all night or much in the morning. Although they sometimes get into rather loud, fur flying brawls, usually in the morning, this morning there was a demand for play time and the need to go outside. It has been raining a lot here. A lot of people had to be rescued from floating cars and their homes.
