It’s A Guy Thing Right?? I Won’t Try to Understand
Hotel Accomodations
Last week, once again had to deal with Roxie and a certain..hmph, hmph …reoccuring problem. That meant a litter box in my front room upstairs. Naturally Roxie was better in a few days but still felt the need to have an extra bathroom in her house. These cats…they lead a good life. Fancy Feast, outdoor lounge area and filtered water. A dog’s life often refers to the worse. Guess a cat’s life should be a slang term referring to all thing luxurious. At least Roxie thinks so.
Happy Mother’s Day to all you pet owners out there!!
Safety Concerns
Roxie, the Japanese bobtail, and Jean Claude, the black Bombay, spent part of their morning this morning poised on top of a chair looking through my front living room window. They still are not that comfortable in their usual morning spot at my bedroom window. I think I’ve mentioned I have had some challenges lately with the roof over my bedroom ceiling. A roof blowback, then collapse. A tarp has been placed over the roof and it rained heavily last night. I could hear the splatter and I was afraid. Still as if to comfort me Roxie sat in her spot which is just below the hole in the ceiling where the ceiling caved. By the way before the tarp was placed on the roof, Roxie wouldn’t go near her spot. She would look at me and then look at the hole and look at me and look at the hole and walk away. She senses the tarp and it brings her comfort. There’s been a lot of rain and wind lately. Folks in my neighborhood have seen trees and roofs collapse. Lots of repairs, lots of roofers.
I think about wind, rain and roof issues and the people of Japan. Their bravery, their steadfastness – inspire. Their visible grief – heartbreaking. Prayers of safety and restoration to the people of Japan. May God provide them a tarp of safety, blessings and peace.
Tat a Tat As the Holiday Season Goes
![tn[2]](https://catsandallthat.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/tn23.jpg?w=610)
Tomorrow we are two days from a new year. For some folks and critters a new year symbolizes a new beginning, a clean start ,an empty slate. For others the new year brings a chance to purge the memories of the past. For Roxie and Jean Claude this year has been quite something and they have had an adverturous and rather splendid holiday season, spending time at my house and at CCL’s house. Although they escaped twice from CCL’s during Christmas dinner – sorry CCL but it was small bag of trash that had to be taken outside. They really seemed to enjoy Christmas dinner with family at CCL’s. Roxie and Jean Claude are a favorite of my aunt Fran who doesn’t like cats but is very entertained by this duo. Yes they performed for her and showed her love and attention, rubbing her leg and jumping on the back of her chair and running across. Animals entertain and love and nuture us. We should show our furry friends love and attention too. Do your part to support the Washington Animal Rescue League – www.warl.org or the Animal Rescue league in your town.
The LookOut
Roxie and Jean Claude are on an extended stay at their other residence, CCL’s house. This afternoon I paid them a visit and my daughter made brunch. I water her plants . Yes, I provide landscape services for two residences. Lately Roxie has seen fit to leave CCL’s house unexpectedly and stay out for hours at a time – rumor is she has a man. So as not to worry about her tarting out, I lured the cats to the basement before going outside to water my daughter’s flowers. Finished with the task and ready to enjoy sausage, eggs and pancakes I entered the house , let the cats out of the basement and sat down. Oops !! CCL(my daughter) reminded me I forgot to get fresh thyme from the garden for the eggs. That meant going outside again. Roxie and Jean Claude were already waiting by the back door poised to escape. The basement trick would not work a second time in a row. What to do?? CCL quickly grabbed a spray bottle filled with water and stood guard in front of me as I carefully opened the door, went outside grabbed the thyme and came back in the house . Teamwork.
Soft Scrambled Eggs(I recommend finding more recipes at Cook’s CountyKitchen.com )
To scramble soft fluffy eggs, heat the pan or skillet, add butter, then eggs and chopped herbs, turn off heat and scramble. To prep the eggs I just beat eggs slightly and add a little water or cream and then pour into the pan before cutting off the heat. A friend also pours a lot of “Dash” straight into the heated butter and then adds the eggs – also tasty.
